Garnet Collection - SAKE SET - (1 POT & 4 CUPS)

Garnet sand is collected from Cape Elizabeth, ME and Garnet stones from Mt. Apatite Park in Auburn. The sand is wedged into the clay and then thrown (made) on the wheel.  The iron in the sand causes it to melt when covered in melting wood ash in the wood kiln. The kiln takes 40 hours to fire and we burn more than a cord of wood! Each pot is then meticulously looked over and wet-sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper so they are smooth like a river stone.

Sake, pronounced sɑ-keh, also called o-sake or nihonshu is an alcoholic drink (about wine strength) distilled from rice, which you can enjoy hot (in winter) or cold (in summer) and is a superb accompaniment to sushi or sashimi! We offer a complete sake set all in a great 2 colors. Whether you are looking for a gift for a loved one or a special treat for yourself.
